Broken Shelter

Innocence feigned in

restless hands, skimming

the landscape of anonymity

Seeking a glimmer of dull need

Calloused veins thrum

Pulse jumping unscathed

as eyes rake a desolate frame

Splinters of heat unleashed

spears his motive, first blood

pools and feeds dandelion wishes

Tongue in cheek, skin breaks

Battle wounds plead for kisses

to smother the pain of past failures

They fall entangled, souls bound
