I lay myself bare on raw canvas
obsessed with the glare, reflection
a void I feel but can only capture
with a glide of brush dipped in umber
yesterdays colliding with a tepid future

Her whiskey eyes tell all.
I lay myself bare on raw canvas

a void I feel but can only capture
with a glide of brush dipped in umber

Smiles. Thank you. I haven’t a clue what I am doing, but I find a strange sense of peace while painting. I may fill up the dumpster with colorful canvases in the process of learning, though!!

Love this moving poem and the painting. It is soothing and distracting To just paint. Love your colors!

Thank you, Holly!! Those are my base colors but you will see very little of them in my actual finished painting — I think. LOL
