I accidentally realized that today is Day 1 of NaPoWriMo. I miss the ease of which I use to spill my emotions in poetic expressions. So, I turned to prompts for gentle inspiration.
Poetic Attempt #1 (thanks to this prompt)
Ruled by weakness
I hide behind strength
With no possession
Greater than false pride
Unwavering fear
Gives me pause
As I inhale my tears
I swallow your apathy
With memories of cum
You cannot see my eyes
As I am undone
My need to bleed
Welcomes heartbreak
I beg for you, again

And because I am a bit of a masochist, I turned to a friend for more of a challenge. I was challenged to write a triolet using the themes of quarantine and envy. I am definitely rusty — and should take advantage of the next 29 days — but I lack the self-discipline to commit.
Isolated from your touch
I envy the woman you love
My heart remains in your clutch
Isolated from your touch
I feel the loss in a slow rush
Seeking forgiveness from above
Isolated from your touch
I envy the woman you love

A glutton for punishment? lol
Best of luck with the challenges. Great way to keep your mind off of everything that is going on in the world.
Be safe.

I do love to be punished. 😉. We all need a safe place – physically and emotionally.

Exactly. Just don’t be hard on yourself. Life is tough enough.
Be safe.

You may be rusty… but your words sure weren’t.

Rusty is probably the wrong expression. Guarded and I secure are more accurate!! Thank you so much for your continued encouragement and support, Tara.
