I left my heart in the future of the rising sun
Tears dappled in time, laughter faded in childish chimes
Streaks of grief glaring in maternal pride
Thank you, my son, for the ride
*I haven’t disappeared, though I am going through minutes like an apparition. We took my oldest son to college this past weekend for his freshman year. I’m grieving for my sweet blonde cherub that needed me in the sincerest of ways while being so proud of the man that is making his own way in life.
